Maureen Cannon has been of Counsel to the firm since January 1993. Ms. Cannon is a native Washingtonian who has enjoyed a diverse and eclectic legal career for the past 20 years.

She began her career by trying criminal cases and arguing complex criminal appeals at the nationally renowned Public Defender Service of the District of Columbia. She continued her criminal litigation practice at the high-profile firm of Williams & Connolly, where Ms. Cannon’s practice expanded to include complex civil litigation, the defense of medical malpractice cases, transactional work for large commercial and non-profit enterprises, and the representation of professional baseball franchises.

Ms. Cannon opened her own practice in 1992. Her practice concentrates on transactional work related to sports facility development and leasing, league revenue-sharing, and the representation of corporate and non-profit executives on transactional employment matters.

Ms. Cannon is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and the State of Maryland. She received her Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University in 1981, magna cum laude, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1976 from New College of Florida.
