(202) 466-3883 x104 | Fax (202) 775-7477 | Email Ms. Schild Ms. Schild has been of counsel to the firm since 1999, and had previously practiced with Mr. Musolino and Ms. Dessel for more than ten years. She has practiced extensively in the courts of the District of Columbia since 1982, and has also practiced in the federal and local courts of Maryland. In the area of international law, Ms. Schild has participated in litigation arising out of the Nairobi embassy bombing and in other international tort and contract claims. She has specialized in extraterritorial service of process on public, private and parastatal entities pursuant to the Foreign Service Immunities Act and international treaty. In the area of real estate law, Ms. Schild represents the District of Columbia Housing Authority in actions based upon illegal activity committed on public housing property. She and Ms. Dessel were counsel in the first case of this type in the District of Columbia to have been successfully prosecuted before a jury and affirmed on appeal. She has also represented clients in cases involving claims of wrongful death and personal injury, including lead paint and toxic tort cases. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Schild served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the District of Columbia, engaging in all aspects of defense of the District of Columbia and its individual employees in civil actions, including cases alleging wrongful death, police misconduct and discrimination. She has been selected to train and speak to judges of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, and has been appointed by the court to serve as a receiver in a real estate case. With Ms. Dessel, she has spoken to government and private entities on the subject of possessory actions based on illegal activity. Ms. Schild is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the Court of Appeals of Maryland, The United States District Court for the District of Columbia, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and the United States Court of Federal Claims.
